Today at 2pm is the Mystic Krewe of Barkus, which can only mean one thing: cute dogs in costumes are taking over the streets of the French Quarter! If you are a dog person, this is one parade you do not want to miss. The parade follows a loop, starting at N Rampart and St Ann and ending at N Rampart and Orleans. What’s better than watching a parade of adorable dogs in costumes? Watching a parade of adorable dogs in costumes while eating gelato! Where should you go to get it? La Divina Café e Gelateria. Located on 621 St. Peter Street, La Divina is the go-to artisanal gelato and sorbetto shop in the French Quarter. The store is adjacent to the parade’s midway point, close to the St. Louis Cathedral. La Divina prides itself in sourcing locally. According to its website, La Divina purchases locally, with 95% of its vendors being local, and uses seasonal, locally grown and responsibly farmed produce.
